May 24th 2019 is a special day. It’s the first day same sex couple can register their marriage legally in Taiwan. I am very proud of my country, many people in Taiwan fought for decades to make this happen. <3 <3
Edit: The old man on the right is Chi chia-wei, he is the pioneer of gay rights movement in Taiwan. For the past thirty years he has been fighting to legalize gay marriage, he came out of the closet in a time where homosexuality was still consider a disease and taboo, he was alone in the beginning, but on that special day, he served as a witness to all the couples that registered their marriages!
